EU Law Moot Court Competition counts as the most prestigious and toughest student competition in the area of EU law. Our EU Law Moot Court Team has qualified to participate in Naples regional finals along with 11 other teams from all over Europe including universities of Maastricht, Brussels, Stockholm, King's College London, Berlin, Wien, College of Europe and few others. However, in order to participate in regional finals the team had to prepare 30 pages of written pleadings dealing with extremely complex issues that arise in the application and interpretation of EU law in a hypothetical case. Work on the written pleadings takes place from 1 September till 30 November. This year the Organising Team of the EU Law Moot Court Competition has received about 90 such written pleadings out of which 48 have passed into the oral stages of the competition held in three different locations in Europe and one in the United States. Best team from each of the four different regional finals is invited to All-European Finals in Luxembourg to argue the case before the European Court of Justice. Fifth team is invited to receive the award in the Court on the basis of having submitted the best written pleadings and the award went to our Law School’s Moot Court Team!
This is the first time we won such prestigious award in international mooting competitions, which was a result of long and hard preparations of all the team members. Congratulation to our students Nicola Curnow, Jussi Ekonen and Inkalotta Nuotio, and to the coach Katarina Pijetlovic!
