How can I become a library user? You need to register personally at the library in order to use the library facilities. Take with you the student ID if you already have one, or Estonian ID card, passport, or some other legal documents. In additional, you need to fill in a simple form with your contact information (telephone number, Email address) which takes less than one minute. How long can I keep the library usership? Where can I get textbooks for my study? There are usually up to 5 textbooks reserved at the library for restricted lending period and condition, meaning you can only borrow it for 24 hours to 7 days. It’s also possible to reserve the textbooks when they are not available. We also encourage you to use them inside the library. You need to make a deposit into your account BEFORE printing. You may do so at the Library. We accept a one – time minimum EEK 25,00 cash deposit. How are the books in your library organized? The books are organized in such a way that students from different faculties, namely, business, law, social sciences and humanities, know where to go. Under each faculty, there are popular topic areas under the location mark. Quite often, in regard to the courses of the semester, you will find corresponding location marks in the library, such as international business, management, marketing, organization behavior, international law, dispute settlement, philosophy, sociology, and so on. Where can I find the books related to certain topics? If you are already familiar with the location marks, then it’s very easy to go directly to the shelf and browse through the books. If you know the book title or author’s name, then it’s easy to search through out E-catalogue from the university website. You need to obtain the user name and password from the Intranet or from a librarian to visit certain sites.
How can I use Interlibrary Loan service? Unfortunately, our library does NOT participate such resources-sharing networks with foreign libraries. However, the National Library of Estonia located at Tõnismägi 2 offers Interlibrary Loan (ILL) at Reference Reading Room on the 5th floor. How can I find reference in published theses? The library keeps a full archive of theses written by graduate students. It’s usually the first step for the last-year students to find an interesting, manageable topic or to get a broad idea of how a graduate thesis should look like. List of thesis from the last six years are available at the library and on the librarys webpage. Theses title, author’s name, and advisor’s name are searchable through E-catalogue from the university website. If you have found an author or title of the theses that you wish to read, or a topic that you are interested in, the librarian will help you in finding the right thesis. What kind of information can I find from the European Documentation Centre (EDC)? The purpose of European Documentation Centre (EDC) is to engage EU citizens into community’s affairs, to disseminate useful information, and to help forge “an ever closer union”. EDC at International University Audentes is an integral part of the library, where you can find numerous publications on topics from history, development, and future of European Union. The library is regularly receiving official publications from EU agencies in both Estonian and English. We organize this rich information by thematic topics from responsible agencies.
