IUA Library RulesThe library users need to fully comprehend the library rules. The rules are not enforced as the means of punishment, but the attempts to facilitate the circulation and maximize the value of the library collection. Should there be doubt, concern, or suggestion, please feel free to contact the library team.
- Students, faculty and staff from International University Audentes, who wish to use the library facilities, need to register as the library user (hereafter, the user) personally and activate the user account in the database system.
- Please fill up the registration form with eligible CAPITAL LETTERS and correct contact information, such as phone number, email address, etc.
- The user is obliged to present valid student cards or other identification documents with photo to the librarian during the registration and borrowing the books.
- Three days before the due date, the user will receive an e-mail reminder that is automatically generated by the library database systems. If no reservation, within these three days, the user can prolong the lending period at the library, by phone +372-6996557, or by email library@audentes.eu. Please note that you can not prolong more than 10 times.
- The library will not accept such request via the third party, such as your classmates, friends, or relatives.
- NB! Not receiving or failing to respond to the e-mails does NOT waive the overdue penalty charges.
- Book(s) from the reservation list will be kept for three days (starting from the day when the book is returned). If the user does not come within three days, the library has the right to lend the book to other readers.
- The user is obligated to return or prolong the books before leaving Estonia.
- The user, who is liable of the damage and lost to the library collections, is also financially responsible of the replacement cost**.
- The user with overdue items will be suspended from using library facilities for the period AND pay the overdue charge. The scheme of overdue charges are**:
- Items with lending period of 28 days or longer, the overdue charge is 1 EEK per day per item;
- Items with lending period of 7 days, the overdue charge is 3 EEK per day per item;
- Restricted Items with lending period of 1 day, the overdue charge is 10 EEK per day per item;
- If the overdue period exceeds more than 100 days (NB! 10 days for textbooks and other restricted items), an invoice with three times of the replacement cost will be issued to the library user.

- The library reserves the right to call back the books that are already lent out due to special needs.
- For graduate students, all the books have to be returned before awarding the diploma.
- It is forbidden to eat, drink or talk loud at the library facilities.
- Please set your mobile phones on silent mode.
Lending period

Textbooks: minimum one day to maximum one semester if there are enough copies, otherwise, refer to the reserved textbook copies below.

Reserved textbook copies: to be used inside the university premises or be lent exceptionally (for one day or weekends only).

Non-textbooks items: 28 days, renewable if no reservation.
•
Theses: 7 days
•
Magazine and journals:
Back issues -- 7 days.
Current issues -- to be read in the library only
*The library reserves the rights to implement and modify the rules to enhance books circulation and maintain the library facilities.
**This rule does not apply to the faculty and staff.
