Published on the 07.05.2009 by Hanna-Hulda Reinkort

Changes to the academic regulations from academic year 2009/2010

1. Academic Policies; academic calendar; class schedules

Starting from 1 July 2009 the Academic Policies, Academic Calendar and class schedules of Tallinn University of Technology (TUT) will be implemented for all existing students of International University Audentes (IUA). Information about the aforementioned documents is obtainable at TUT website http://www.ttu.ee/?lang=en, TSEBA website http://majandus.ttu.ee/ and at http://tls.ttu.ee for law students.

NB! TUT Academic Policies are not retroactive.

Before the start of the new academic year, in August, special informative meetings will be held for the IUA students on the changes to the academic regulations.

2. In which programs and languages the studies will be carried on?

Studies will be continued in the programs and languages the students of the TSEBA academic unit IUA are studying at present. If it is necessary or possible, in the courses which are run according to other TUT programs the study groups will be merged.

3. European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) explanation - transfer from CP to ECTS; conversion of previously earned credits.

From the academic year 2009/2010 the completed studies will be indicated in European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) instead of credit points (ECTS and CP respectively). 1 CP is equal to 1.5 ECTS (if a full time academic year has comprised 40 CP, it will comprise 60 ECTS). The results of the courses which have been completed earlier will be re-calculated according to the new system. For more specific information contact TUT website.

4. TUT Academic Database (ÕIS).

All records of the TSEBA academic unit IUA students will be transferred from IUA Academic Database to TUT Academic Database. From new academic year the ID card or the passwords obtained from IT Systems department will enable students’ access to TUT Academic Database. Instructions for operating TUT database will be available upon logging to the database.

5. Concluding study contracts for new academic year.

Concluding study contracts for new academic year will start in September 2009. Tuition fee rates for the academic year 2009/2010 are available on IUA website http://www.audentes.eu/tuitionfees .

From new academic year studies for the existing students of the TSEBA academic unit IUA and all the students of TSEBA and TUT School of Social Sciences will take place in the new premises of TSEBA at 3 Akadeemia tee, Mustamäe.

7. Student counseling services and obtaining information

All the existing student groups of the TSEBA academic unit IUA will have an academic consultant who will inform them about day-to-day changes. In the end of August a special information meeting will be held in order to share information about further organization of studies. Current information can be obtained on TSEBA website; law students can obtain information at http://tls.ttu.ee .

8. Evening studies regulations.

The aforementioned general information about future organization of studies is also applicable to evening studies. Classes will be held from 18.00 to 21.15 on weekdays.
